Our season for Black Bear starts May 15th and
runs until June 10th. We boat into the Black Bear's territory and set up
camp. All Knik Glacier Adventures hunts
are fair chase, spot and stalk hunts - so be in shape, ready to hike in
steep mountainous terrain.
Spring Black Bears have typically just come
out of hibernation and have just one thing one their minds - to eat. They
are very active during almost all times of the day or night. This high
level of activity combined with the long hours of daylight (over 18 hours)
at this time of year make for lots of bear sightings and plenty of chances
at bringing home a nice trophy.
